Hello!  I'd like to share a little about myself.  I am a Marriage and Family Therapist.  I have earned a M.A. (Master of Arts) in Marriage & Family Therapy from the Graduate School of Marriage and Family Studies at Evangelical Seminary.  Earlier in my career, I also earned a M.S. (Masters in Science) in Counseling Psychology from Capella University.  I began my studies at Pennsylvania State University in State College Pennsylvania with a major in Psychology with a Biological Sciences focus.  I earned my B.S. (Bachelors of Science) many years ago.   After completing my undergraduate studies, I began my career in acute care working with children, adolescents and adults in both direct care activities and in assessment and referral.  I have held many different roles across numerous disciplines over the past 20 years in the field of emotional, physical and spiritual wellness. I am passionate about my work and I have spent my career building competencies in many different healing methods.  I am particularly skilled in treating the effects of trauma through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), as well as other brain-based interventions to support an individual’s recovery through adverse life experiences.

I have experience with the many ways in which difficult experiences can contribute to anxiety, depression, complex grief, PTSD, chronic illness/ fatigue, migraine headaches, disordered eating, phobias, addictive disorders and interpersonal/ family discord.

I have also worked on integrative teams where mental and physical health are integrated into the care plan.  I am open to and enjoy working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare/ healing professionals to support an individual towards their unique goals.I am a  certified clinician through the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (Intellectual Disabilities/Autism and Emotional Health) and serve as a clinical interviewer certifying other clinicians.

I am also a wife, mother, and a survivor of adverse life experiences. The aftermath of these experiences impacted my closest relationships. I am grateful for those who walked alongside me through my healing journey.

As a therapist, I focus on stability of the self and the relationships that are most important to my clients as I walk alongside their unique journey.
In addition to my training in TF-CBT and being fully trained in EMDR, I have additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Functional Behavioral Analysis, Prepare/Enrich, the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and Ego States therapy.
Beyond all of that official stuff, I love music (especially the energy of the crowd during live music events), art, and poetry as well as exploring nature.  I love to watch my husband grill, to eat his cooking, to read, and to nap (typically in that order!).  I have two active and spunky kids who keep me quite busy with their various interests and activities.

I am grateful to you for taking the time to read about me.  If you feel as though we may be a good fit for one another, I encourage you to make contact with me so you can decide after speaking with me.  Regardless, I wish you well on your journey!
