Psychotherapy Services

My practice is structured around extended psychotherapy sessions rather than the traditional 45- to 50-minute therapy hour. Appointments typically last between 75 and 90 minutes, allowing adequate time to settle into the session, engage in focused therapeutic work, and close with appropriate grounding and integration.

Initial Assessment and Treatment Planning

75–90 minutes                                          $250

Individual Psychotherapy

75–90 minutes                                          $250

Longer sessions may be arranged when clinically appropriate and agreed upon in advance.

Trauma-Specific Intensives

Trauma intensives provide a concentrated period of treatment for clients who want to address a specific traumatic experience, emotional pattern, relationship injury, or treatment goal without being limited by the traditional weekly therapy format.

Half-Day Trauma Intensive
3.5-4 Hours                                               $750

Full-Day Trauma Intensive
5.5-6 Hours                                             $1,200

Three-Day Trauma Intensive
Three 5.5-6 Hour Days                           $3,000

The recommended format is determined through consultation and treatment planning. Intensives may include assessment, preparation, resourcing, trauma processing, breaks, grounding, and integration based on the client’s individual needs.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

When ketamine is incorporated into treatment, additional fees apply for medical evaluation, medication management, medication, and ongoing medical oversight through Journey Clinical. These costs are separate from and not included in the psychotherapy or intensive fees listed above.

Please visit the Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy page for more information about the treatment process, eligibility requirements, and associated costs.

Insurance and Out-of-Network Benefits

Restore Counseling & Consulting is a private-pay practice and does not participate with insurance or managed-care plans. Payment is due at the time services are provided.

Depending on your insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your out-of-network mental health benefits. Upon request, I can provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt containing the information typically required to submit a claim to your insurance company.

Because appointments in my practice typically last 75–90 minutes, clients who plan to seek out-of-network reimbursement should specifically ask whether their plan reimburses extended psychotherapy sessions. Insurance companies may calculate reimbursement using their standard psychotherapy allowance rather than the full session fee or session length. Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement.

You are responsible for submitting the superbill, communicating with your insurance company, and determining whether your plan will reimburse any portion of the fee. Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Insurance companies determine coverage based on your specific plan, deductible, allowed amount, clinical diagnosis, service code, and other requirements.

Before beginning services, consider asking your insurance company:

  • Does my plan include out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
  • Is there a separate out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
  • After the deductible is met, what percentage of the allowed amount will the plan reimburse?
  • What is the plan’s allowed amount for an out-of-network psychotherapy session?
  • Are there limits on the number, frequency, or length of sessions?
  • Is preauthorization or a referral required?
  • Are telehealth services covered when provided by a therapist licensed in the state where I am located?
  • Are extended, intensive, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy sessions eligible for reimbursement?
  • How do I submit an out-of-network claim, and what is the filing deadline?

Please note that the amount an insurance company considers its “allowed amount” may be lower than the fee you pay. For example, reimbursement may be calculated from the insurer’s allowed amount rather than from my full session fee.

Diagnosis and Privacy

Insurance companies generally require a mental health diagnosis before considering a claim for reimbursement. When you submit a superbill, the diagnosis and basic information about the services you received become part of the claim submitted to your insurer.

I encourage you to consider your preferences regarding privacy and the use of a diagnosis before choosing whether to submit claims. I cannot guarantee how an insurance company will store, use, or review information submitted through its claims process.

HSA, FSA, and Tax Considerations

You may be able to use funds from a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account for eligible mental health treatment. Some therapy expenses may also qualify as medical expenses for federal tax purposes. Eligibility depends on the nature of the services and your individual financial and tax circumstances. Please consult your plan administrator, accountant, or tax professional rather than relying on the practice for tax advice.
